Wrong Item Shown - Troy Bilt Lawn Edger Critique

Appears very durable and easy to maintain. Does a professional job. Twenty years later I was a homeowner, edging my own lawn with a manual (push and grunt) edger that worked as well as the spade and bayonet, but with less time and effort from me. Ten years after that, I graduated to a string trimmer, and was able to groom my lawn with much less effort, although much more dirt and noise.

It gives a cleaner cut. It's a Best buy!

Seemed pretty powerful for an electric edger. I found it to be a bit messy if you have never done it before. It is quick, quiet and reliable. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to do continued edging, but if you are heavily overgrown, use a spade first. Does what it's supposed to do quickly and easily. I have what I think is a pretty standard size suburban lot (10,000 square foot), this edger cuts a clean path around the driveway and sidewalk in short order. If you're considering this unit, or any B&D product, be warned. This edger' wide housing makes it difficult to see where to line up the guide to the concrete walk when edging the lawn.

I have seen this model in home improvement stores for much more. Delivered as promised and in perfect condition.

Probably won't live long enough to wear this one out but if so I would buy another one. This is not a heavy-duty professional type edger but its fine for me.

It is easy to assemble. Quiet, powerful, lightweight and easy to use. If your soil is dry, it can get a bit dusty. I'd recommend watering the day before you use this edger.

If you haven't tried gas you owe it to yourself to try one. You will never go back to electric.

I am really pleased with this tool and while I'm not a fan of other Black and Decker yard products (see my other reviews); I would highly recommend this one. I bought this edger for my husband a couple of weeks ago. I understand that the Edge Hog is not for professional landscapers, it is perfect for the average home owner, and the price is right. Simple to use and the powerful motor does not get stuck.

Somehow with this edger, it all seems worthwhile. Remember to use Safety goggles and a face mask with this item.
