Why Didn't I Purchase This One Sooner? - Lawn Edger Tool Critique

It's easy to pull backwards to go over a spot if a grass blade or weed stem remains. The metal blade is extremely durable and will last for years unless you try to route your driveway with it. We had never used an edger so there was a lot of soil and grass at the edges. We retracted the edge guide, set the blade depth to 1", placed it so the wheels were on the grass side (not on the curb side), and ran it carefully in as straight a path as possible. The cord proved to be no trouble at all, and in a way was much easier to use than a heavy battery that slowly destroys your back. Plus, no awful gas mixing and ridiculous noise.

Easy to use, multi-purpose...a bonus with the trencher and it works right. Price was great and delivery was right on time. It goes on easily enough and the wear indicators will let you know when to change it. I bought my first home in May of this year, so I'm fairly new at lawn maintenance.

So I've got to stay on top of my yard if I don't want a "nasty-gram" from the lady who drives around and makes sure that all the grass is mowed and the shutters are painted. The B&D Edge hog and the replacement blades are a breeze to use.

Not a good purchase if you have St. It's a tough well-built unit.

Don't waste money. Dear Sir I have not rated this product as yet, it is a beautiful machine but I wonder if there is ever a faulty machine produced?

The edger was able to cut through the turf with only minor difficulties. It did at one point start to overheat at a really thick muddy portion of the turf.

I gave this four stars because it works extremely well for edging on a regular basis. It does not, however, work well on heavy overgrowth. The guide lines on the blade guard really help to align the blade perfectly to ensure a perfect cut. However, I did have trouble with taller edges. I am really pleased with this tool and while I'm not a fan of other Black and Decker yard products (see my other reviews); I would highly recommend this one. I bought this edger for my husband a couple of weeks ago. When I tried to use it to do the heavily overgrown front sidewalk, I found I had a lot of trouble. It was powerful, and did cut, but was awkward and hard to push through the heavy growth.

Powerful, handles well, easy to use and its performance is excellent. Well worth the price. Mud and dirt also gets stuck easily in between the edging blade and the plastic fender. Besides these problems it's very easy to use, and is not as noisy as a gas edger.
