And I do not mind using it for landscaping service purposes. This trimmer is only $90.00 bucks.
If you tend to hit the concrete sidewalk/driveway a lot check the blade and replace when it gets worn down, otherwise you will be "edging" but not a lot will be happening. I put a new blade on the other day and it's like a brand new edger again!
I recommend this product. I have had other edgers that cost more than 3 times the price and didn't work any better.
I'm not the type of person to typically leave reviews. But wanted to leave one for this. The Edge Hog works great to edge sidewalks. If it is really bad you may have to go over it again in about a week or two the first time. I bought this edger the spring of last year-- and I'm so glad I did. Before getting the edger, I'd been trying to edge with a weed eater-- that's like cutting a stick of butter with a wooden condiment spoon. You definitely need a soft grass and absolutely no stones. I guess in my case, I just chose the wrong tool. I gave up and have gone back to a 20 year old rusted edger that still soldiers on. This will be the nicest looking piece of trash that I'll have had the pleasure of disposing of.
It gives my lawn that crisp finished look I want, it's easy to use and it is consistent. In three years of use, I've only had to replace the blade once. All that is needed is some patience, and a bit of practice. Keep in mind that I am not that handy with tools. If the edge guide happens to follow the concrete, the blade is spaced so far from it, that it doesn't catch everything and you have to go back and forth over it until you randomly get it. Great power that delivers the clean edge you want on your lawn.
My Husband has been looking to buy this, but kept putting it off. He is very happy with it and neighbors even say they see him in the yard "playing". It's just a simple to use machine that does its job well. I just walk around the edges now and the whole lawn is complete in only a few minutes. Highly recommend the Boss Edger. This is a terrible edger and does not do a good job at all.
