Propane fire tables are an extremely safe patio heating option. Although propane is a new choice in the world of fire tables, other propane appliances and products have been around for a long time and have seen technological advancements over the years. Some homeowners have a misconception that keeping propane cylinders near their house is unsafe. This is because many people still believe that the cylinders could explode or rupture.

In reality, propane cylinders are specially designed to endure extreme abuse and wear and tear. There is slim chance of a propane fire table or cylinder being unsafe--or exploding. All propane equipment must pass rigorous safety tests and standards before they appear in the market.

With the use of overfilling prevention devices (OPDs) in today's propane tanks, their safety has in fact improved. The OPD ensures that the propane tank is never overfilled. This ensures that enough room is left in the tank for the fuel volume to expand and contract under different climatic conditions. Fire tables, like all fire pits and other open fire accessories, still must be used with care and common sense safety practices.

It is important to never try to mend any broken mechanism on your propane fire table or propane cylinder. This should be left in a professionals hands. Most propane fire tables are used for outdoor purposes, but there are some versions which can be used indoors. Propane fire tables and propane cylinders should be placed on even, sturdy surface. Also remember not to smoke around propane cylinders and never use lighted matches or lighters to leak. Again, this is very common sense stuff.

Simple precautions will go a long way in keeping your propane fire table safe. In turn, the propane fire table will offer a clean fuel. It will be easy to operate, and it will not produce any toxic smoke, ash, or odors.
