Adding Attractive Finials To Your Decor

Lamp finials are very fine accents that add to the overall decor. They are often ignored, however, as they are tiny and usually unnoticed. But if you add a special one, it makes a corner of the room come alive.

A lamp with a faux stone body may have a round or rough one in the same color tone as the stone to perfectly match the style. But there would be nothing wrong with changing it to pick up the color of something else in the room, perhaps the shades.

There are so many types of them to choose from that you will never tire of finding new ones. There are crystal and metal ones, acorns and pineapples, among so many other styles to add to the room.

At Christmastime you can replace it with a Santa Claus one, or perhaps a Christmas tree design, or a snowflake. There is just no limit as to the slight touch of something different you can add to a room by just replacing this little object.

Outdoor ones are very decorative, as well. They are typically used on rooftops, and can be of stone to accent the corners of the roof. There are other types that have a pole mounted to the turret cap, and then the finial sits on the pole. These are usually copper or other type of metal. Then there are the types that go atop the flagpoles. These are usually the round ball styles.

Also found on the end of bed posts, they accent the bedroom. They are made of wood, usually, if the post is also made of wood. And they are on the ends of curtain rods, as well. These are used to hold the curtain in place. Finials are decorative accents, and well as being functional.
