Choosing an Asphalt Paving contractor

Usually people don't need to have an Asphalt Paving contractor for work around the house. Most of the people are hired to lay asphalt for a city or a state project. Most of time the project is a new highway or repaving of an existing highway.

When it comes time for a municipality or government agency to choose an asphalt paving company there are some pretty straightforward rules that they follow to make it all come together. Usually the first step in the process is to send out a Request for proposal or and RFP. Usually this is sent out to several companies that the government organization is familiar with.

Most companies start evaluating an RFP as soon as they receive it from the entity making the request. In most cases the first thing they look at are the requirements that will be placed on the company awarded the job. Not everyone that receives the RFP will actually respond to it and this could be for many different reasons. Most of the time though, if a company doesn't respond it is simply because they just can't handle the specifics of that job do to the scope of the project or because they have other competing projects they are already working on.

Most companies that do respond though are extremely thorough with their response and diligent about completing it. There are usually firm deadlines that come with the RFP. Most deadlines are at least a month out form when the RFP is received. With most RFP's, the information that is needed to complete the request is very detailed and it can take a great deal of time to finish the RFP and get it ready to send in, so most companies take right up until the deadline to get it done.

RFP completion can be expensive for a company to do because it can be fairly resource intensive. The cost of participating in the process is one of the many reasons companies work so hard to make sure they have the best chance at being awarded the job.

We've been thinking about getting our parking lot extended. There's a little lot that we could increase our parking lot with on the side! Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea since our business is picking up.
