In every office, acquiring office chairs is highly important since they can offer a lot of features. Since every individual is different in terms of sizes, one should know how to properly adjust an office chair.

In adjusting the seat height, you have to make sure that your feet is resting on the floor comfortably whilst making sure that your thighs are in horizontal position. If for some instance that your feet are unable to rest flat, a footrest should be procured.

Some office chairs have a pneumatic level where seat adjustment can be attained while the person is sitting down. For traditional office chairs, the chair can be adjusted when you're standing. The seat can be rotated either clockwise or counter clockwise. When the seat pan's height is just beneath your knee caps' height, you'll know that the height is sufficient.

Feet dangling can compress the tissue of your legs which can trigger discomfort or pain to your lower legs which is why this should be prevented. When sitting down, the width between your knees and the chair's front pair should have the measurement of a clenched fist.

If there isn't any width, you can slightly lower the chair. Try to tilt the seat pan on a forward direction to alleviate pressure. There are office chairs that have rounded edges to avoid any pressure. Sometimes, a foot rest is also necessary.

When working on a desk, the proper adjustments should be performed before you start your work. Therefore, the chair should reach the proper height for you to work comfortably.

Backrest adjustment

The backrest should be adjusted appropriately. This is to ensure that the lumbar area is supported all the time when you are in a seated position.

Especially if you're working for several hours while sitting down, the chair's backrest should be adjustable to ensure that the lower back is always supported. Some office chairs have backrests that can be moved backwards or forwards.

If the chair doesn't have any back support, it is a no-no to sit on it for several hours. Adjusting the chair is necessary to ensure maximum protection to your back.
