Most people don't understand how much water a plat really needs. A lot of the time, watering a plant too much can kill it, so use this tip to check if your plant needs watering. Put your finger into the soil up to the first joint, and if it comes out dry, you need to water the plant.

Feeding plants during their most active growth period is important for healthy growth. Certain plants require different things, so it is important to get to know all of the different kinds of plants that you have in your garden to know, for example, that foliage plants require more nitrogen than flowering plants.

Putting your plants in the proper environment is a very important part of their care. Too much sun, and some plants will die, while some plants, Sanseveria and Aspidistra require no sun at all. Make sure to check the tag that comes with your plants to see what kind of environment they like.

Some plants only survive in certain temperatures. Some houseplants will survive in both cool and warm environments. If it is cold, don't consider putting your plants near a gas heater, as this could be very harmful. The same goes for putting a plant near air-conditioning during the summer.

It is important to regulate the humidity for some plants to grow, as some plants will not grow if it is too humid, while some will only grow if it is humid. Try grouping your plants together to create a micro-climate that they can all benefit from. if the temperature allows, you can also spray them once or twice daily.

Some house plants are small enough that they can live their whole lives out in a single pot. Some plants will grow very fast and will need to be moved, although some will not take well to being disturbed. If you take your plant out and see only roots, your plant needs more room, and if not, then you should be alright.
