One of the first things that the human eye notices when walking past a residential property is the lawn. The lawn is the gateway to the home, and can take away a good first impression if the grass is brittle, dry and generally not appealing to look at. Although you may think that this is a result of lack of care from the house owners, it may not be their fault. If the grass was laid incorrectly, and if they were not provided with sufficient lawn care advice, it may not have been easy to keep the lawn looking healthy. If this sounds like the state of your lawn, and you are looking to replace it for a luscious lawn that all your neighbours will envy, then consider the following lawn seeding applications.

One of the most common grass seeding applications is spray on grass, also known as hydro-seeding. This involves using a jet sprayer which evenly distributes seeds directly onto the soil. This is a more ideal method than scattering the seeds by hand, as it is hard to evenly distribute seeds by hand. Unlike other methods, the seeds will definitely 'take' to the soil, as this is already a 'sown-in-lawn'.

By raking in the grass seeds (or 'terraseeding'), the area is covered with a new layer of soil that already contains the grass seeds. Because the seeds are already evenly distributed throughout the soil layer, the grass will grow evenly.

For healthy, luscious green lawns, wool blankets are an option for your property. The blankets already contain the lawn seeds, and are laid directly onto the desired area. The wool blankets hold water easily, and provide a protection for the seeds (giving them more chance to grow).

If you are in a hurry to get healthy lawns, you can choose instant 'readylawn'. Readylawn does not require as much growing time as other methods, but is more expensive because of this.

By first consulting with a lawn care professional, you can discuss which lawn seed application is best matched to your property, as some may be more suitable than others.
