Aquaponic systems can give a person quite a few advantages when they grow fish and vegetables in them. To get started in this particular endeavor is often said to be quite simple and easy. Once one begins though they can experience quite a bit of fun while they are maintaining it.
Placement of the project though is a critical factor in its success. It surprisingly enough does not require any fertile soil as it is not a needed component for prosperous growth. Sunlight though is another matter. It is greatly needed to ensure that what is planted reaches it greatest potential. If the climate out of doors varies significantly in temperature from season to season then one will be limited in what they can grow. This is especially the case should the winters where one is located are quite harsh.
In contrast locating the system indoors can allow for greater environmental control. This allows for growing crops year round in places that are not likely to allow it otherwise. The one disadvantage that one will have to contend with is of course the lighting. Thus a greenhouse or a large window that lets in quite a bit of sunlight is an ideal situation.
