The Wonder Of Cantera Stone Fountains

If you've always fantasized about your dream home, you might have also imagined the location and surrounding landscape. While picturing that landscape, it's possible to enhance its beauty with some cantera stone fountains. These products are durable and classy, and can be found in the loveliest homes. The stone is used for more than fountains; it is also excellent material for entire buildings and small artistic stonework pieces.

The other varieties are travertine and limestone, and all are mined in Mexico and the United States. Cantera is the Spanish word for 'quarry', and because it is volcanic, it is of a porous material. Being porous, it does not expand or contract when the weather reaches extremes.

This exquisitely beautiful type of rock is used not only for fountains, but also for columns, domes, and entryways. Using stone rather than brick for a fireplace is an excellent aesthetic idea. You may also have it carved as window or mirror surrounds. There is no reason why one shouldn't build an outdoor barbecue from this material, or use it for accents and niches. A special stonework table might be just the thing.

For hundreds of years, Mexican towns and cities have used this stone to build homes, statuary, churches, and other buildings. All of those structures and pieces remain standing today if they were not torn down or destroyed for other reasons. The beauty remains as testimony to the extraordinary staying power of the material.

The design you choose can be modern or old-fashioned, or if you prefer, you can provide the artisan with a photograph or a drawing of your own. If you can envision it, the craftsman can create it, and your home and its surroundings will reflect your creativity.

This incredible product is offered by dealers and craftsmen who see your wish as their command. Your exact desire can be answered in a variety of colors that range from dark to light and most subtle hues in between. Additional colors include soft reds and oranges, pinks, and even gentle greens.

If your imagination shows you stunning stonework around your property and in your home, you might be able to see a hearth for your fireplace, or arches between open rooms. Perhaps you have always envisioned sturdy columns on your back patio, or an entire kitchen of stonework tiles. While you're deciding, walk outside and picture cantera stone fountains in the front and back yards, with birds singing in the splashing water.
