There are various features that are known to be important when it comes to nature of the artificial turf. This is a surface of synthetic fibers which is made to look like natural grass. It is mainly used in arenas for sports and stadiums where different sports are played. Apart from this, synthetic grass is used in residential and commercial properties.

The manufacturing process is a little bit elaborate. It involves the use of plastic granules that are mixed with other additives and some coloring agents. This formed mixture is then heated and pressed through the extruders. This process usually results into creation of fibers which assume the shape of the extruder head that was used.

The blades are reinforced once the threads have been made. This is important since it makes them resistant to external forces and fluctuation in temperatures which is usually in the range of negative and positive fifty degrees. After everything has been achieved, the fibers are coiled and shipped to the turf manufacturers.

These spools are put on machines which use needles to push the blades through a backing. The principle that is used here is similar to the one in a sewing machine. The process is called tufting. The kind of fiber used, the distance between needles and height of fiber determines the usage and appearance of the turfs. To secure these fibers in the backing, some liquid mixture is added and hardened in the oven so as to fix the fibers. At this point, the procedure is complete and the grass is ready for selling.

The advantages that are associated with the use of synthetic materials are known to outweigh that of natural grass. Through various researches, it has been shown that the use of artificial turf has led to reduction in cranial and neural injuries. Additionally, if there are any injuries that players might sustain during their games, then the situation is less severe than it would have been for natural grass.

Another great advantage of this is that it is environmentally friendly. It does not need treatment by use of chemicals or pesticides thus it usage does not promote environmental pollution. It is not affected by changes in weather conditions and is a suitable choice for use in any season of the year. With this turf, there is no need for maintenance except for the brushing of twigs and leaves that may have fallen from trees.

The synthetic materials are a suitable choice for use since an individual can lay them over tarmac or sand. Therefore, they are able to act as perfect replacement for yards that are unappealing. Sometimes, it is almost impossible to grow grass in areas that are shaded. In such situations, these artificial materials can easily be used to cover the surfaces.

One can purchase an artificial turf from any retail store that sells the product. There are different designs for this kind of turf. The choice is not limited and an individual needs not to worry about the process of installation since that is easy.
