Health and Safety in the workplace

Every work place must have a safe and healthy environment. The government has standards that a business must comply with and a good business knows that when its employees are happy and safe, it will thrive. Studies have long shown that it pays more to provide a safe and healthy work place than to cut corners.

In order to accomplish this task, a business manager needs certified safety consultants. People who have been trained and know what they are doing are needed for consultations. Many employees have decided to jump into this field and learn more about being a qualified health and safety consultant, as they have seen the high demand for these consultants.

Two of the most acknowledged and reputable qualifications in the UK, in the field of health safety, are the IOSH managing safely course and the NEBOSH National Diploma. Acquiring these qualifications would mean that you have gone through the specific training needed to be a professional health and safety consultant.

This diploma is in the 6th position of the National Qualification framework and most UK universities with courses in MSc accept it within its entry requirements. Depending on the university, its entry requirement will count as partial or full. The NEBOSH National Diploma is very popular as it is backed by big names like the ACCAC, CEA and GCA.

One of the reasons the NEBOSH National Diploma and the IOSH course are so popular among institutes is because of how well its standards of excellence are kept. Institutes like the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) all accept this diploma. Its quality is kept due to its being overseen by several individuals coming from different institutes. This group of individuals is called the Qualification and Technical Council.

The law requires that a health and safety training course cover a vast variety of issues. This course provides you with such training and prepares you for many possible scenarios in the work place. Once you graduate from the NEBOSH National Diploma program, you will be ready to go to any office, in any field of work, and consult. You will be making a better work place and environment for employees all over the UK. There will be no job that you cannot handle.

The NEBOSH National Diploma has made a name for itself as the program that teaches you to be able to go into any sector, any field of business, and make it a better place to work. That includes private, public and voluntary sectors. There will be no job too big or to unique for you.

Basic requirements must be met before taking the NEBOSH National Diploma training program. As this is an advanced course, you must already be qualified and accredited up to level 3 in the health and safety field. These entry-level courses are crucial to being successful in the NEBOSH training course. If you already have approved and qualified level 3 credits in health and safety, you may be asked to demonstrate them, depending on how long ago you acquired your credits. Before taking the NEBOSH National Diploma training program, you need to show that your knowledge of health and safety is valid and in accord with the current laws. To do this, you may be asked to do some hands-on helath and safety work at your workplace.
