Spring is almost upon us. Make sure you prepare for spring landscaping by planning ahead of time. Here are some things you can do with your landscape to get it looking its very best this spring:

Insect Control - A lot of insects go in to hiding during the winter, but once it starts to warm up they come out in full force. Don't give the insects a chance to come out and eat your lovely plants. Hire a professional pest control service to spray your landscape for insects so they can't come and ruin your plants and garden.

You can also spray on your own. There are a lot of different products available to get rid of infesting insects. Find a product that is safe for your plants, but will still kill the insects. When spraying on edible items you also need to be sure that the spray won't harm anyone who consumes it.

Weeds don't die during the winter like a lot of plants. Some might, but there will be some that will need to be pulled to make room for your garden and plants. Take the time to weed your plants to make sure the weeds won't harm the plants around them.

Some weeds might look like they are gone, but they are still there underneath the surface. Roots can still be kept alive under the surface level, waiting to emerge after the wintertime. Use a pre-emergent herbicide to target the weeds that are still below the surface. Just like any insect spray you might use, you should find an herbicide that won't harm or kill you garden, plants, and grass.

Plan Ahead - Research what you would like to do with your landscape. If you already landscaped out your yard your planning might consist of what plants you might need to replace. Or perhaps you need to decide what type of landscape you would like, and see what changes you would like to make. Do you want to have a garden? Do you want fruit trees? What kinds? When dealing with plants it is important to know what types of plants grow best in your local environment. These types of decisions should be thought of ahead of time. You don't want to decide these things on a whim while scouting out the garden center.

When you know what type of landscape you would like, you can start working on getting it accomplished. For example, if you want to plant a garden for practicality, then you can choose vegetables that you usually eat to grow. This will cut down on your grocery bill, and can also be a fun project to work on with your family. Whatever project you choose, be sure that you work closely with your professional landscaper so you can get the perfect landscape for you.
