A lot of people do not realize that some plants do not require much irrigation and are resistant to dry weathers. These are called Xeriscape plants. There are still many which are attractive and alluring and so it is worth checking them out if you want a low maintenance garden. xeriscape plants

These are in fact ideal for those people who do not have much time to water their garden or lawn on a daily basis. They are also ideal for those dry climates as they are drought tolerant. Thus xerogardening is the ideal choice for those who would still like to have a beautiful landscape, lawn or garden.

Advantages of such flora are many. Besides lower consumption of ground water, maintenance is simple and easy. Nature's resources are replenished and the plants, surviving by taking advantage of their ability to retain rain water, provide us with necessary life sustaining oxygen.

Trees, shrubs, vines, flowers, and of course, cactus and some grasses all have choices among them for xeriscape plants. Some examples among them include the vine known as 'Hall's Honeysuckle' with medium-green leaves and fragrant flowers, and the beautiful yellow flower called the Windflower, which as a perennial blooms in May and is used in rock gardens.

One reason why these types of flora are able to blossom and thrive with little water is due to the deep roots they develop, which enable them to store water when it's available. The texture of xeric shrubs is fine to medium, including the lilac, the Apache plume, and blue mist spiraea. There are many varieties of evergreen shrubs that do quite well in the xeriscape plant family. For those who desire colorful flowers, moss rose can be found in peach, pink, red, and orange, plus some other, similar colors, and the California poppy offers bright orange flowers.
